As a B2B e-procurement platform connecting West African industrial buyers with global suppliers, we expect all users to conduct themselves in a manner that upholds these values and fosters successful international business relationships.

Our community thrives when every participant—whether Buyer or Supplier—commits to ethical business practices and respectful interactions.

2. Expected Behavior

Professional Communication: Maintain courteous, professional communication in all interactions. Use clear, respectful language in RFQ submissions, quote responses, and platform messaging.

Honest Representation: Provide accurate information about your business, products, capabilities, and certifications. Buyers should submit realistic specifications and requirements; Suppliers should provide truthful product details and delivery commitments.

Timely Responsiveness: Respond promptly to inquiries, RFQs, and transaction-related communications. Delayed responses can impact business operations and erode trust.

Commitment to Agreements: Honor your commitments. When you agree to pricing, specifications, or delivery timelines, follow through on those promises.

3. Prohibited Behavior

The following behaviors are strictly prohibited on Afconnex:

  • Fraud and Misrepresentation: False claims about products, manufacturing capabilities, certifications, or business credentials
  • Payment Manipulation: Attempts to circumvent our secure transaction system or engage in unauthorized payment practices
  • Harassment: Any form of harassment, threats, or intimidation directed at other users or Afconnex staff
  • Discrimination: Discriminatory language or behavior based on nationality, ethnicity, religion, gender, or any protected characteristic
  • Spam and Unsolicited Contact: Mass unsolicited messages, promotional spam, or off-platform solicitation
  • Intellectual Property Violations: Listing counterfeit products or infringing on trademarks and patents
  • Trade Violations: Transactions involving sanctioned entities, prohibited goods, or violations of export/import regulations

4. Buyer Standards

As a Buyer on Afconnex, you are expected to:

  • Submit complete, accurate RFQs with clear specifications and realistic budget ranges
  • Respond professionally to supplier quotes and communications
  • Complete payments through our secure secure transaction system as agreed
  • Confirm receipt and satisfaction of goods promptly to release milestone payments
  • Provide fair, honest reviews based on actual transaction experience
  • Report any supplier issues through proper platform channels

5. Supplier Standards

As a Supplier on Afconnex, you are expected to:

  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date business profiles and product listings
  • Respond to RFQs with competitive, honest quotes within reasonable timeframes
  • Manufacture and deliver products that meet agreed specifications
  • Communicate proactively about production status, shipping updates, and any potential delays
  • Maintain valid certifications, licenses, and export documentation
  • Resolve quality issues professionally and in good faith

6. Content Guidelines

Profile Content: Business profiles must contain accurate, verifiable information. Use professional photos and descriptions. Do not include misleading claims or unverified certifications.

Product Listings: Product descriptions must accurately reflect specifications, capabilities, and pricing. Use clear images and provide complete technical details.

Communications: All platform communications should be professional and business-focused. Personal attacks, offensive language, and off-topic content are not permitted.

7. Reporting Violations

If you witness or experience a violation of this Code of Conduct, report it immediately:

  • Use the "Report" feature on user profiles or transaction pages
  • Contact Afconnex support through the platform messaging system
  • Provide specific details including dates, transaction IDs, and screenshots if available

All reports are reviewed confidentially. We prohibit retaliation against users who report violations in good faith.

8. Enforcement

Afconnex takes violations of this Code of Conduct seriously. Consequences are proportional to the severity of the violation:

  • Warning: First-time minor violations may receive a formal warning with guidance on expected behavior
  • Temporary Suspension: Repeated violations or moderate offenses may result in account suspension pending review
  • Permanent Ban: Severe violations including fraud, harassment, or trade violations result in permanent removal from the platform
  • Transaction Reversal: Funds held in secure transaction may be refunded to the affected party in cases of confirmed misconduct

Users may appeal enforcement decisions by contacting our support team with relevant documentation.
